Utah is home to some of the most stunning landscapes in the United States. From breathtaking canyons to unique geological formations, there’s no shortage of awe-inspiring sights. 1. Angel’s Landing, Zion National Park

Directions: From Las Vegas, take I-15 N to UT-9 E in Washington County. Continue on UT-9 E to Zion National Park.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: Angel’s Landing is renowned for its challenging hike and spectacular views. Named for its lofty perch, this trail offers panoramic vistas of Zion Canyon. It’s a testament to the natural beauty and rugged terrain of Zion National Park.

2. Bryce Canyon National Park

Directions: Follow I-15 N from Las Vegas to UT-20 E, then take US-89 S to UT-12 E to Bryce Canyon National Park.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: Bryce Canyon is famous for its unique geological structures called hoodoos—tall, thin spires of rock that protrude from the bottom of arid basins. The park’s amphitheaters provide otherworldly landscapes, especially stunning at sunrise and sunset.

3. Arches National Park

Directions: From Las Vegas, take I-15 N to I-70 E, then US-191 S to Arches Entrance Rd in Grand County.

4. Canyonlands National Park

Directions: Take I-15 N to I-70 E, then US-191 S to UT-313 W to Canyonlands National Park.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: Canyonlands is divided into four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. The park offers vast canyons, mesas, and unique rock formations, making it a haven for hikers and photographers.

5. The Narrows, Zion National Park

Directions: Follow the same route to Zion National Park as for Angel’s Landing.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: The Narrows is a section of Zion Canyon where the North Fork of the Virgin River has carved a deep, narrow gorge with towering walls. Hiking through The Narrows involves walking in the river, providing a refreshing and adventurous experience.

6. The Subway, Zion National Park

Directions: Take the same route to Zion National Park, then access the trailhead from Kolob Terrace Road.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: The Subway is a challenging, semi-technical slot canyon hike known for its tubular canyon walls that resemble a subway tunnel. The trek includes beautiful waterfalls and emerald pools, making it a favorite for experienced hikers.

7. Monument Valley

Directions: From Las Vegas, take I-15 N to UT-20 E, then US-89 S and US-160 E to US-163 S to Monument Valley.

9. Belly of the Dragon

Directions: Follow I-15 N from Las Vegas to UT-9 E, then take US-89 S to the Belly of the Dragon.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: Belly of the Dragon is a man-made tunnel created to divert water under the highway. Its name comes from the dragon-like appearance of the tunnel’s interior. It’s a short, family-friendly hike with a unique, otherworldly feel.

10. Peekaboo Slot Canyon

Directions: From Las Vegas, take I-15 N to UT-9 E, then US-89 S to Peekaboo Slot Canyon near Kanab.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: Peekaboo Slot Canyon is a stunning, narrow canyon with beautifully sculpted red rock walls. It’s easily accessible and provides a less crowded alternative to the more famous Antelope Canyon.

11. Moonscape Overlook

Directions: Take I-15 N to I-70 E, then UT-24 E and UT-95 S to UT-276 to Moonscape Overlook.
Historic Info & Uniqueness: Moonscape Overlook offers a surreal view of a barren, alien-like landscape with grey and blue hues. This overlook provides a unique vantage point over the Henry Mountains and the badlands of the Utah desert.

12. Bentonite Hills

Directions: From Las Vegas, follow I-15 N to I-70 E, then take UT-24 E to Bentonite Hills near Capitol Reef National Park.

13. Factory Butte

Directions: Take I-15 N to I-70 E, then UT-24 E to Factory Butte.
