About Team Solid
Our Steam Iron concept provides safe, cheap, and cyclic hydrogen storage and transport. Reacting iron with high-temperature steam creates hydrogen fuel and rust. Crucially, adding hydrogen back to the rust regenerates the iron. We successfully proved this with our SIR1 system, producing 1 kg of hydrogen. Next, we are scaling up to SIR2, an industrial demonstration prototype. Housed in a standard shipping container, SIR2 will store and extract 2.5 MWh of hydrogen. Currently being designed, building of the first SIR2 modules will begin in 2026 for real-world industrial validation.
