IEG acquires majority stake in Brazil agribusiness show

IEG now runs 12 trade shows in Brazil, including major agribusiness fair Fenagra in São Paulo

Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) has acquired 51% of Fenagra, the International Agroindustry Feed & Food Fair. The deal adds a major agribusiness event to IEG Brazil’s portfolio and brings its total number of shows in the country to 12.

The 18th edition of Fenagra in 2025 is set to break records with 230 exhibitors from 17 countries across 16,000 sqm of exhibition space. It will take place in the Main Hall of the Anhembi District in São Paulo from 13-15 May 2025.

IEG called the acquisition its most significant investment in Brazil to date. Fenagra focuses on agribusiness, animal nutrition, fats, and oils – sectors central to Brazil’s export economy.

Agribusiness driving Brazil’s economy

Brazil’s agribusiness sector is valued at $170bn and accounts for 50% of the country’s total exports. The animal nutrition and compound feed industries are worth $45 billion combined. Pet food alone is forecast to hit $30bn in 2025, with double-digit annual growth.

Brazil also produces half of South America’s vegetable oils, mainly used in biofuels and cosmetics.

Global growth strategy

“The challenge of internationality,” said IEG CEO Corrado Peraboni, “is delivering results. Our strategy of geo-cloning our leading products [and] acquiring others abroad has proved successful.

Peraboni added that IEG’s revenue now comes from “ten different countries”, including Brazil, Mexico, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, China and the US.

IEG Brasil president Carlo Costa and international director Francesco Santa said the acquisition process was challenging: “This operation involved a complex ten months’ work and reflects our strategic line of diversification in markets to make our Group increasingly resilient.”

IEG’s Brazilian revenue is around 30m Reals. The company also owns 100% of Expo InfraFM and MundoGeo, and now runs trade shows across construction, surface treatment, geotechnology, fixtures, drones, space, nutrition and health.
